Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003
Part 2 and the Second Schedule: unfair practices a supplier must not engage in – Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003

Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 S2-13-14: No unconscionable terms, undue pressure or undue influence

What does S2-13-14 require?

Exploiting a consumer through harsh, oppressive or excessively one-sided terms that are unconscionable (paragraph 13), or by exerting undue pressure or influence to make the consumer enter a transaction (paragraph 14), are unfair practices. Long sessions, refusal to let the consumer leave or take the contract home, and emotional or relationship pressure in beauty, wellness, timeshare and education package sales are the classic patterns.
