Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003
Part 2 and the Second Schedule: unfair practices a supplier must not engage in – Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003

Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 S2-1-2: Sponsorship, approval, affiliation and product characteristics stated truthfully

What does S2-1-2 require?

It is a specific unfair practice to represent that goods or services have a sponsorship or approval they lack, or performance, accessories, ingredients or components, qualities, uses or benefits they do not have, or that the supplier itself enjoys a sponsorship, an approval or an affiliation that does not exist (Second Schedule paragraphs 1 and 2). Endorsements, certification marks, 'authorised dealer' and 'government approved' style claims need written authority behind them.
