Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003
Part 2 and the Second Schedule: unfair practices a supplier must not engage in – Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003

Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 5: Responsibility for staff and agents, and for a single act at any stage

What does 5 require?

An unfair practice may be a single act or omission and may happen before, during or after the consumer transaction. What an employee does in the course of employment, or an agent does within actual or apparent authority, is treated as done by the supplier, and the reasonableness of the supplier's conduct in the circumstances is weighed. The supplier therefore owns the conduct of its sales force, call centres, outsourced telemarketers and commissioned agents.
