Part 2 and the Second Schedule: unfair practices a supplier must not engage in – Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003

Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 S2-27: Copy of a written instalment agreement given on request

What does S2-27 require?

Where a written agreement provides that supply will not start until some or all of the price is paid and the price is payable in two or more instalments (a deposit counts as an instalment), and the consumer has not been given a copy, declining to hand over a copy when the consumer asks is an unfair practice (paragraph 27). This targets prepaid packages and lay-by style arrangements.
