A level 1 regulated contract must be written, dated and signed by or for each party and contain the parties' names (the contractor's as it appears on its licence), the licence number, a description of the subject work, any plans and specifications, the contract price or how it is calculated (with the contractor's reasonable estimate), the date for practical completion or how it is set, a conspicuous notice of the owner's possible right to withdraw under s 35, and any regulation requirements. It has effect only if in writing, dated and signed.
