A licensee's advertisements must show the licensed name, state that it is licensed under the Act with the licence number, contain no false or misleading information (for example claiming only a licensee may lawfully do work an unlicensed person could, or inventing a legal deadline), omit nothing that makes them misleading, and meet regulation requirements (35 penalty units). A person without a contractor's licence may advertise availability for building work only if the advertisement states the value of work the person may do without a licence, presented as the regulation prescribes (100 penalty units).
