Where building work was carried out on land by a person not licensed for it, and the land is offered for sale within 6 years after completion, the vendor must give the prospective buyer, before the buyer signs the contract of sale, a notice with details of the work and a warning in the form required by regulation. If the notice is not given, the vendor is taken to have warranted in the contract, overriding inconsistent terms, that the work was properly carried out.
