Before entering a contract to which s 7 or 7AAA applies, the licence holder must give the other party the information, in the form approved by the Secretary (the NSW Fair Trading home building consumer guide), explaining how the Act operates and the procedures for resolving disputes under the contract and disputes about insurance. Contracts with a developer for the work and prescribed classes are excluded. Maximum penalty 40 penalty units for a corporation and 20 otherwise.
