NSW Food Regulation 2025
Part 10: egg food safety scheme and the Salmonella Enteritidis licence condition (sections 157 to 179, Schedule 8) – NSW Food Regulation 2025

NSW Food Regulation 2025 172: Egg licensees have analysed at their own cost the Manual-listed eggs and egg products, non-reticulated water, and, for Schedule 8 farms, each shed and poultry housing area

What does 172 require?

A licensed egg business must, at its own expense, test the eggs, egg products and blended mixtures the NSW Food Safety Schemes Manual lists, any non-reticulated water used to produce eggs or process egg products, and, on primary production premises subject to Schedule 8, each shed where poultry are kept and each poultry housing area (environmental Salmonella Enteritidis monitoring). Frequency follows the Manual unless a Food Authority notice sets frequency or standards. Maximum penalty 25 penalty units.
