NSW Food Regulation 2025
Part 8: seafood safety scheme and the NSW Shellfish Program (sections 121 to 149, Schedule 7) – NSW Food Regulation 2025

NSW Food Regulation 2025 127: Seafood primary producers run a Standard 3.2.1 food safety program and meet Standard 4.2.1 (seafood primary production), including the ASQAP Manual conditions for bivalve molluscs

What does 127 require?

A business handling seafood at the primary production stage, including fishing vessels, aquaculture and shellfish harvesters, must run a food safety program under Standard 3.2.1 and comply with the seafood primary production and processing standard (Standard 4.2.1, as NSW modifies it), which for bivalve molluscs brings in the conditions of the Australian Shellfish Quality Assurance Program Manual.
