Chapter 9: Secondary power centres and plant (standby generators) – NHS England HTM 06-01 Electrical Services Supply and Distribution (2017 Edition)

NHS England HTM 06-01 Electrical Services Supply and Distribution (2017 Edition) 9.61-9.65: Mains return delay, load transfer method and cooling run-on

Return to the primary supply should wait at least 5 minutes (set from local experience) for the supply to stabilise and avoid repeated outages from auto-reclosers. Designers should decide whether load transfers manually (key switch, possibly short-term parallel under G59/3-2) or automatically, and automatic transfer should be gradual to limit transients; gradual transfer may need a long-term parallel agreement. After all load is back on mains, generators should run on to cool, for a preset time such as 10 minutes or until coolant and lubricant reach preset temperatures.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
