Chapter 16: Validation, commissioning and records – NHS England HTM 06-01 Electrical Services Supply and Distribution (2017 Edition)

NHS England HTM 06-01 Electrical Services Supply and Distribution (2017 Edition) 16.13-16.16: UPS commissioning: changeover, waveform, harmonics, true battery autonomy and alarms

The UPS should give a no-break supply rated for the load for the required endurance, with battery ampere-hour capacity verified under load. Commissioning should prove changeover within limits or no-break, output waveform and THD within specification, and true autonomy at full load on a load bank. UPS room environmental conditions should be commissioned to protect battery life, and all local and remote indications and alarms should be demonstrated and recorded.
