Chapter 16: Validation, commissioning and records – NHS England HTM 06-01 Electrical Services Supply and Distribution (2017 Edition)

NHS England HTM 06-01 Electrical Services Supply and Distribution (2017 Edition) 16.12: Generator operational tests, fuel storage check, records handed over and DNO witness

After full testing, actual fuel consumption should be assessed and on-site storage checked for 200 hours' continuous full-load running. All test records and insurance certificates should be passed by the maker into the building logbook and O&M manuals. The generator should be run on the building load with all phase failure and control devices verified; synchronising with other sets demonstrated within tolerances; and the G59/3-2 relay verified where parallel with the PES. The DNO engineer is to witness and authorise commissioning and operational tests.
