Chapter 5: Emergency power supply: energy sources, converters and accessories – NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems

NFPA 110-2025 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems 5.6.5.1-5.6.5.4: 5.6.5.1 to 5.6.5.4 Control panel, safety shutdowns and alarms

A control panel is required with automatic remote start, a run-off-automatic switch, the shutdowns, alarms and controls of 5.6.5.4 and, for Level 1, load shed controls. The automatic control and safety panel provides the full cranking cycle; shuts down and locks out on fail to start, overspeed, low oil pressure, high engine temperature, remote stop and other maker conditions; gives battery-powered individual visual alarms with common local and remote audible contacts and a lamp test (Table 5.6.5.4 lists each indication for Level 1 and Level 2); shuts down when the start signal is removed; carries the ac instruments; and, where one EPS serves Level 1 and Level 2 loads, sheds Level 2 loads and raises an overload alarm.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 3 controls across 2 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 2.4.1 2.4.1 Control of the generating set
  • 2.4.2 2.4.2 Prime mover isolating device to prevent starting during work

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
