ISO 50001:2018 - Energy Management Systems 6.3: Energy review

What does 6.3 require?

Develop and carry out an energy review. Using measurements and other data, analyse energy use and consumption: identify the types of energy used now, and evaluate energy use and consumption both past and present. Identify the SEUs, the significant energy uses. For every SEU, establish the relevant variables and the current energy performance, and identify the people working under the organization's control who influence or affect it. Identify opportunities to improve energy performance and rank them, and estimate what future energy use and consumption will be. Update the review at defined intervals and whenever facilities, equipment, systems or processes that use energy change significantly; keep the methods and criteria as documented information, and keep the results.

What else in your programme already covers this

This control maps to 3 controls across 3 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.

  • 2.3.2 Energy Efficiency, Conservation and Management

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
