In planning the EnMS, take into account the issues from 4.1 and the requirements from 4.2, review the activities and processes capable of influencing energy performance, and plan in line with the energy policy so that the actions taken produce continual improvement in energy performance. Identify which risks and opportunities must be dealt with so that there is confidence the EnMS will deliver what is intended, energy performance improvement included, so that unwanted effects are prevented or lessened, and so that continual improvement is achieved (6.1.1). Plan how to act on them, how the actions will be built into the EnMS and into energy performance processes and carried out, and how their effectiveness will be judged (6.1.2).
