Clause 5: Attributes of organizational resilience – ISO 22316

ISO 22316 5.8: 5.8 Development and coordination of management disciplines

How management disciplines are designed, developed and coordinated, and how well they line up with strategic objectives, is central to resilience (the disciplines are listed in Annex A). The organization should show, and build on, coordination of its management disciplines so that, singly and together, they serve its purpose and protect what it values, and management across those disciplines of how uncertainty affects its objectives. It should give priority and resources to: identifying and designing the disciplines that contribute to resilience; assessing regularly what each one adds to overall resilience and fixing weaknesses; making the disciplines flexible enough for the organization to take in change and adjust to it; and improving communication, cooperation and coordination among them so that the approach hangs together.
