Clause 7: Adaptation planning – ISO 14090:2019

ISO 14090:2019 7.4.2-5: Define the plan's scope, system boundaries, baselines, climate information and impacts

What does 7.4.2-5 require?

The adaptation plan specifies its own scope and the boundaries of the organisational system it addresses (a region, community, supply chain, sector, business or population group exposed to specific hazards, with Annex A guidance on setting boundaries), and it addresses the resilience both of the organisation and of the system or network it operates within even where that lies outside its direct control. Any baselines used are clearly defined. The plan states the past, present and future climate information and the greenhouse gas emission and other scenarios (socio-economic, demographic) relied on, and describes the past, present and future impacts, positive and negative, direct, indirect and systemic, on what the organisation does, makes and provides; indicators to track how impacts evolve are recommended and can serve monitoring too.
