Food waste (food that ends up neither eaten by people nor used as feed or bio-based material) should be prevented and managed. Surplus produce, meaning produce grown and harvested, or left unharvested in the field, that never reaches customers, should be directed first to people, then to animal feed, then to bio-based materials; food waste should go to recycling, composting or land application, to repurposing such as incineration with energy recovery, or to other disposal. Quantities are recorded, and estimates are accepted. In producer groups, the evidence may be held at QMS level.
This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 1 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
