The CE marking, governed by the general CE principles of Regulation (EC) No 765/2008 (its Article 30), must go on the product or its data plate before the product is placed on the market, so that it is visible, readable and cannot be removed; only where the product's nature rules this out does it go on the packaging and the accompanying documents instead. It is followed by the identification number of the notified body where that body is involved in the production control phase (affixed by the body or under its instructions), then by the specific marking of explosion protection, the equipment-group and category symbols and, where applicable, the other point 1.0.5 information. Any further mark indicating a special risk or use may follow, and products designed for a particular explosive atmosphere must be marked accordingly.
