EU ATEX Directive (Directive 2014/34/EU) 13.1b: Categories M 2 and 2: type examination for engines and electrical equipment, internal control with filing for the rest

What does 13.1b require?

Internal combustion engines and electrical equipment of categories M 2 and 2 need EU-type examination combined with either internal production control plus supervised product testing (Module C1) or product quality assurance (Module E). Other category M 2 and 2 equipment follows internal production control (Module A), and the manufacturer must send the technical documentation to a notified body, which acknowledges receipt as soon as possible and keeps it.
