BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 5.6.6: 5.6.6 Safety-critical analyses by accredited laboratories or to ISO/IEC 17025 principles, with justification where not

Where the company or its subcontractors carry out analyses on which product safety, authenticity or legality depends, the laboratory used must hold recognised accreditation or else operate in line with the principles and requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, including taking part in proficiency testing where relevant. If accredited methods are not used, the reason must be documented.
