Part 2-4 and Part 2-5: commitments, banking, borrowing, investment, indemnities, insurance, CCE grants, ministerial notices and receipts (sections 18 to 27) – Australia Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014 (PGPA Rule)

Australia Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014 (PGPA Rule) 18A: Banking by CSC: CSC's banking agreements for Commonwealth-related amounts must provide for effective cash management and daily consolidation into the Official Public Account, interest must go to the OPA, and Finance must be told of account openings and closures

What does 18A require?

For Australian bank accounts holding amounts the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation receives on behalf of the Commonwealth (scheme payments, Commonwealth receipts, related amounts and amounts equivalent to the SOETM special account), CSC's agreements with its bank must provide for cash to be managed effectively in line with Finance's written requirements and for cash kept in Australia to be swept daily into the Official Public Account at the Reserve Bank. Interest those accounts earn is paid across to the Official Public Account, and CSC must notify Finance promptly whenever such an account is opened or closed.
