The Northern Territory replaces Part H6. NT H6P1: the building must have, to the degree necessary, thermal performance supporting efficient heating and cooling energy use, appropriate to its function and use, internal environment, location, nearby permanent features, solar radiation (used for heating and controlled to minimise cooling), sealing of the envelope and use of air movement to assist cooling. NT H6P2: domestic services must have efficient-energy features suited to the service, location and energy source. Verification (NT H6V2): a reference building comparison (cooling load in climate zone 1; heating and cooling loads in climate zone 3) with the reference built to NT Parts 13.2 to 13.5 of the Housing Provisions. Deemed-to-Satisfy route (NT H6D2): an energy rating of at least 5 stars using house energy rating software, or NT Parts 13.2 building fabric, 13.3 glazing and shading, 13.4 sealing and 13.5 air movement for H6P1 and NT Part 13.6 for services under H6P2. Other NT Volume Two variations: H2P4 (pool drainage) and H4V4 are left blank, NT H4P6 requires qualitative airborne and impact sound insulation for separating walls without penetrations compromising it, and H7P1 and H7D2(1) are left blank because pool access is regulated under the Swimming Pool Safety Act.
