Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r235: r 235 Major inspection of registered mobile and tower cranes

The person with management or control of a registered mobile or tower crane ensures a major inspection (examination of all critical components, stripping down and removing paint, grease and corrosion where needed, plus a check of safe operation) is carried out by or under a competent person (a registered professional engineer with the relevant knowledge, or a person the regulator determines in exceptional circumstances) at the end of the manufacturer's design life, or as a competent person recommends, or otherwise every 10 years from first commissioning or registration.
