Australia Model Code of Practice: Safe Design of Structures 3.4a: 3.4 Review design controls during the design and involve those who will build and maintain

As design is refined, opportunities remain to eliminate or minimise risks. Designers should review solutions at various points to confirm that risk controls are effective and, if necessary, redesign. Design safety reviews should involve the people who will build the structure where possible, and otherwise people with construction and maintenance experience. Health and safety aspects of the design should be reflected in the requirements of construction contract documents and help select suitable, competent contractors.
