Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing the Risk of Falls at Workplaces 5.2b: 5.2 Guardrails or set-back barriers for trenches

Where a person could fall into a trench, the risk should be controlled with guardrailing, including guardrails fitted to the top edges of trench shields, or with a barrier about 1.5 metres back from the excavation to keep people away.
