Work platforms used on forklifts to lift people should be engineer designed and built to AS 2359.1 and securely attached to the carriage so they cannot slide off the tynes. Workers should be raised only in a compliant platform, stay inside it when elevated or moving, never use a ladder, pallet or other device to gain extra height, and the self-closing safety gate should be kept shut when elevated.
