Transport and disposal of asbestos waste must meet the requirements of the Environment Protection Authority in the relevant state or territory. It may be taken only to an EPA-licensed site and must never go into the general waste stream. The SWA codes on safe asbestos removal and on managing and controlling asbestos give more guidance.
