Australia Model Code of Practice: Construction Work K-fa: Appendix J and K: First aid equipment, facilities and trained first aiders (r 42)

The PCBU must ensure first aid equipment is provided and workers can access it and facilities for administering first aid, and that an adequate number of workers are trained in first aid or workers have access to trained people (r 42). First aid officers should know the site's hazards and likely injuries; their names, first aid procedures and emergency numbers should be in site induction and displayed. The principal contractor must arrange compliance on a project and should describe it in the WHS management plan. Provision should reflect the nature of the work and hazards, the size and location of the site and the number and occupations of people; sites with high risk construction work should be treated as high risk workplaces, possibly warranting health professionals or services. On housing sites, kits may be kept in subcontractors' vehicles.
