Australia Indigenous Procurement Policy (May 2026)
Section 4 Mandatory Minimum Indigenous Participation Requirements for high value contracts – Australia Indigenous Procurement Policy (May 2026)

Australia Indigenous Procurement Policy (May 2026) 4.6.4: Contract management: the contract manager ensures compliance with the Indigenous Participation Plan and MMR targets through the term, establishing, monitoring and assessing the supplier's quarterly IPPRS progress reports and running assurance over their accuracy; targets may be varied only consistently with the policy (still summing to 4 or 3 per cent and significant for remote components), through a contract variation, a revised agreed plan and an IPPRS update

What does 4.6.4 require?

The contract manager in the purchasing entity is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Indigenous Participation Plan and MMR targets during the contract term, including establishing, monitoring and assessing the progress reports the supplier submits through the IPPRS and undertaking appropriate assurance so the information is accurate. The entity and supplier may vary the mix of employment and supplier use targets, or move between contract and organisation level, provided the revised targets still add to at least 4 per cent for contract-based or 3 per cent for organisation-based targets, still represent a significant outcome for any remote component, are recorded in a contract variation with a revised Indigenous Participation Plan agreed between supplier and contract manager, and are updated in the IPPRS. At the end of the contract the entity assesses and reports whether the supplier complied.
