Occupational health and safety performance is monitored with a programme that includes the work environment (portable and stationary sampling instruments, methods and standards), worker health surveillance, and accident and disease reporting. Monitoring methodology, locations, frequencies and parameters are set per project after a hazard review, typically at commissioning, at the end of the defect and liability period and repeatedly as the hazards require. Accidents and diseases are recorded and reported, including fatalities and lost-time injuries, so performance can be tracked.
