World Bank Group General EHS Guidelines 2.6: 2.6 Radiological hazards

Places of work with occupational or natural exposure to ionising radiation are established and operated in accordance with recognised international safety standards and guidelines, with effective dose limits for workers, and exposure to non-ionising radiation such as static and sub-radio frequency magnetic fields is also controlled by recognised exposure guidance. The preferred control for both ionising and non-ionising radiation is shielding and limiting the source, with personal protective equipment only supplemental or for emergency use.
