Western Australia Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 529D-529J: Engineered stone: prohibition on manufacturing, supplying, processing or installing benchtops, panels and slabs, with the exceptions and notification

What does 529D-529J require?

Neither the business nor its workers may do work that manufactures, supplies, processes or installs benchtops, panels or slabs made of engineered stone. The prohibition does not apply to supply or installation for genuine research and analysis or to sample and identify engineered stone, and under Part 11.2 Division 3A the regulator can grant an exemption for a particular type of engineered stone (an exemption under a corresponding WHS law is recognised). Work to remove, repair, make minor modifications to or dispose of installed engineered stone is permitted only after written notice to the regulator in the approved form stating the work, its type, frequency and duration, and must be carried out as controlled processing under the Chapter.
