Western Australia Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 421-434: Asbestos in workplaces and naturally occurring asbestos: identify, register, label and manage under an asbestos management plan

What does 421-434 require?

Whoever manages or controls a workplace must identify, or assume the presence of, asbestos and asbestos-containing material in the workplace (structures built before the cut-off date), indicate its presence and location, ensure it is analysed where required, keep an asbestos register that is reviewed and revised when the plan is reviewed, removal occurs or further asbestos is identified, make the register available to workers, representatives and contractors, and prepare, maintain, review every five years and make available an asbestos management plan. Where naturally occurring asbestos is present or likely, the person must manage its risks and prepare an asbestos management plan for it.
