A high risk work licence holder may apply to renew; so may a person living in Victoria (or with reasonable grounds to apply here) who holds an interstate licence or certificate that r 131 recognises as equivalent. A person whose licence has expired may still apply within 12 months after expiry, or within a longer period the Authority allows in exceptional circumstances. The application must give the applicant's name and residential address, any proof of identity required, a photograph in the specified size and form, a declaration that the applicant has kept up competency in the high risk work, and the fee in r 492(1). The Authority must renew a compliant application and give notice within 45 days. Working after expiry without renewal is an offence under s 40(4) of the Act unless r 138(2) applies.
