Holders of asbestos removal, carcinogens and major hazard facility licences may seek renewal only if they apply at least 6 months before expiry (major hazard facility licences) or at least 60 days before expiry (all others). A holder that misses the window must apply for a new licence. The grant tests in r 452 apply to renewals. If the Authority notifies before expiry that it intends to refuse, the licence keeps running past its expiry as set out in r 489; for a major hazard facility licence where a decision-date notice is given under r 488(1)(b), it continues until the application is decided or the notified date, whichever comes first.
