An employer conducting an asbestos-related activity must ensure nobody takes personal protective equipment (including protective clothing, r 5) that is probably contaminated out of the work area unless it is first decontaminated or contained. Probably contaminated equipment other than PPE must be decontaminated before leaving the work area or placed in a sealed container whose exterior is decontaminated before it leaves. Penalty for each: 100 penalty units (natural person) or 500 penalty units (body corporate).
