No employer, self-employed individual or workplace manager or controller may do, or arrange for another person to do, asbestos removal work at the workplace unless it complies with Division 7 (limited, Class A or Class B removal rules). The prohibition does not cover removal carried out for sampling and identification, or removal of asbestos come across during non-asbestos mining or stone extraction. Penalty: 100 penalty units (natural person) or 500 penalty units (body corporate).
