An employer must review, and revise where needed, the controls for an asbestos-related activity: before changes to the related systems of work that are likely to increase risk; after an incident covered by Part 5 of the Act involving the activity; if the controls are otherwise not adequate; and when a health and safety representative (HSR) asks for a review. An HSR may request a review where they reasonably believe one of the first three triggers exists, or that the employer did not review properly or failed to consider those triggers.
