Where specified asbestos-related activities occur at its workplace, an employer must obtain a copy of the asbestos register relating to them or, if other employers are at the workplace where the activities happen, a copy of each of those employers' asbestos registers. The specified activities are sampling or analysis of suspected asbestos, enclosing or sealing, and hand-drilling and cutting (r 302(d), (g) and (h)); and, where a register is available, research, other activities likely to exceed half the exposure standard, and Authority-determined activities (r 302(c), (k) and (l)). The duty does not apply to activities at domestic premises commissioned by the occupier. Act compliance: ss 21 and 23.
