An asbestos removal licence holder must give the Authority written notice, containing the Schedule 13 information, before removal work starts: at least 24 hours ahead where the job is removal of 10 square metres or less in total of non-friable asbestos-containing material present in a ship, plant, building or structure; otherwise at least 5 days ahead. A copy of the notice must be given to the commissioning person before the work begins. Any change to information given to the Authority about an ongoing matter must be reported in writing to the Authority promptly (as soon as reasonably possible) once the licence holder becomes aware of it (except a change of supervisor), and work may continue while doing so. The Authority may vary these notice rules by a licence condition. Penalty for each: 60 penalty units (natural person) or 300 penalty units (body corporate).
