A licence holder must have every person engaged in its asbestos removal work examined by a registered medical practitioner, with an appropriate examination: before the person first does removal work for that licence holder (unless examined in the preceding year), at intervals of no more than 2 years, and within 30 days after the person stops removal work (unless examined within the preceding year). For a licence holder that is an employer, this extends to independent contractors. Act compliance: ss 22(1) and 23.
