Class A asbestos removal work may be done only by a person who: hold a Class A asbestos removal licence; are employed by a Class A licence holder; or are an independent contractor engaged by a Class A licence holder to operate an excavator in the removal work, who is directly supervised throughout by the licence holder and by the asbestos removal supervisor appointed under r 266. Licence terms and conditions may restrict the activities allowed (rr 473 and 474; see also s 40(4) of the Act).
