Where protective clothing from limited removal work is probably contaminated and is not being contained and disposed of under rr 259 and 260, the employer or self-employed individual has to arrange for it to be laundered at a laundry equipped for asbestos-contaminated clothing. When sending clothing to be laundered, they must ensure it is contained so fibres cannot escape and that the container is decontaminated outside before leaving the removal area and shows the presence of asbestos before the laundry receives it. Penalty for each: 100 penalty units (natural person) or 500 penalty units (body corporate).
