The employer or self-employed individual doing limited asbestos removal work must ensure asbestos waste goes for disposal as soon as reasonably possible, in a way that does not release airborne fibres, at a site authorised to accept asbestos waste under the Environment Protection Act 2017 (including its regulations). The Environment Protection Authority regulates how the waste is transported. Act compliance: ss 21, 23 and 24.
