An employer must review, and revise if necessary, its asbestos risk control measures: before changes to the workplace, to a ship, plant, building or structure, or to a system of work that could disturb or damage asbestos; after an asbestos incident that Part 5 of the Act covers; if the measures otherwise fail to control the risks adequately; and when a health and safety representative (HSR) asks for a review. An HSR may ask where they reasonably believe one of the first three triggers exists, or that the employer failed to review properly or to consider those triggers when reviewing or revising.
