Victoria Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 s48-1: s 48(1) and (6) Limit multi-employer DWG negotiations to the permitted particulars

Where DWGs will cover employees of several employers, negotiations and the resulting agreement may address only: the grouping of the employers' employees at one or more workplaces so their health and safety interests are best and most conveniently represented and each member can reach an HSR; the number of HSRs (one or more) per DWG; the number of deputies, if any; terms of office capped at 3 years; and whether HSRs may additionally act for contractors (or a class of them) that some participating employer has engaged, together with those contractors' staff, working where DWG members work. Nothing else may be included (s 48(6)). Each employee or group may nominate anyone to act for them in the talks (s 48(5)).
