Victoria Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 s120-2: s 120 Comply with an inspector's direction about a serious risk

An inspector may give a person at a workplace a direction, orally or in writing, where the inspector reasonably believes it is needed because of a serious risk to anyone's health or safety arising from imminent or immediate exposure to a hazard. The person must comply unless they have a reasonable excuse. Maximum penalty: 500 penalty units for an individual, 2500 for a body corporate; indictable but may be heard summarily.
