US FDA Food Code 2026 6-202.17-112: 6-202.17 to 6-202.112 Outdoor areas and living or sleeping quarters

Outdoor food vending machines (except canned beverage machines) and mobile unit servicing areas (except those only loading water or discharging waste through closed hoses) have overhead protection. Outdoor walking and driving surfaces are graded to drain, and outdoor refuse areas are built according to law, curbed and graded to drain liquid waste from refuse and cleaning. A private home, a room used for living or sleeping, or an area opening directly into one is not used for food establishment operations (P), and living or sleeping quarters on the premises are separated from operations by complete partitioning and solid self-closing doors.
